Mamas it’s okay to spend time, money, and effort on yourself and not have an ounce of guilt about it. If you’re lucky enough like I am to have family close by that is more than excited to spend time with your kids USE THEM! I don’t mean like use and abuse their generosity, but take them up on that offer to watch the kids anytime. Likely these family members are just waiting for you to ask. I know the first time around it can be hard and scary to let loose and give control over to someone else, so make sure it’s family or a friend you trust. And then GO and have a date, an hour of peace and quiet, take that relaxing bath, get your hair done, work on your side hustle, or get you workout for the day done whatever it is you’re wanting to do with that time do it!
I try at least 2-3 times a month to have a day to myself. As a stay at home working mom it can be hard to prioritize myself and my business with two little running around. So I carve out time where my kids can go hangout with their grandma and grandpa (which they love btw) and have some time to myself. I get all the things done that I’ve been wanting to do in peace and quiet, or sometimes I do nothing<— that’s a rare occurrence but I want you to know it does happen and it’s okay. Sometimes we just need to be.
This week I had a hair appointment (finally) and you bet your bottom I got a sitter. Not only are salon rules strict right now about extra people coming in, but I also don’t want to be worrying about my kids running around causing havoc. They also have way more fun at their grandparents than they do waiting for mommy to be done. Anyway, did I feel guilty about it? Not at all. I was able to answer emails, check in on my clients, strategize with my coaches, plan content, and you guessed it write this blog post.
What would you do with a few hours to yourself?
